KGL AI Alt Text Generation Tool | KnowledgeWorks Global Ltd.

Purpose Statement

KGL's automated Alt Text Generation system leverages multiple large language models (LLMs) to produce high quality, accessible image descriptions. The tool was developed to address a critical and rapidly growing need in the publishing industry. It has been designed to streamline and elevate the creation of high-quality, accessible image descriptions at scale.

As publishers face increasing a higher volume of complex visual assets, traditional manual workflows do not work efficiently. Our tool provides a fully automated solution that enhances both accessibility and operational efficiency.

The tool supports publishers, platforms, and content creators in meeting WCAG accessibility standards by combining advanced AI capabilities with human-validated quality controls. It addresses the growing need for consistent, accurate, and contextually aware alt text. This is a compliance requirement in academic, educational, and professional publishing.

The tool helps the publishers to embed accessibility into their standard workflows, making high-quality alt text creation faster, more scalable, and more reliable than any fully manual process.
